Founder of Da Capo Music School and Crystal Piano Studio
Born in Taiwan, Crystal started her musical journey at the age of 4 with piano lessons and cello lessons after she turned 10. Her K-12 education experience in Art Schools has led her to achieving a Master of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance at San Francisco State University. Her teachers include Candy Chen from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Mei-Jun Chou graduated from Kunst-Universität fuer Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Graz with honors, Victoria Neve, Machiklo Kobialka, and Alexander String Quartet in chamber music. She has also studied in master classes with Alfred Brandel, Roberta Rusk, Richard Angeletti, Lydia Brown, William Wellborn, and Joseph Kalichstein.
An active performing artist, Crystal has been performing on both the piano and cello as a soloist, orchestrator, chamber musician and piano accompanist in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Canada, Vienna, and Taiwan. As a music instructor, she has over ten years of experience teaching piano in the United States and Taiwan. She is a member of Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC) and Music Teacher National Association (MTNA), prepares students to achieve the levels from beginning to highest for Certificate of Merit (CM) and Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). In addition, her students have constantly won the competitions every year. She offers piano private lessons for beginners to advanced students, specializes in details of finger touch and musical phrase along with aural practice, theory, history, technical skills, and piano repertoires that are selected to suit students’ interests and abilities.
